Ketamine treatment is generally not appropriate for those with uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension), unstable heart disease (arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, etc.), history of intracerebral hemorrhage, elevated intraocular pressure, and active psychosis or psychotic disorders (schizophrenia). In addition, women who are pregnant or may be pregnant should not receive ketamine treatment. Your psychiatric clinician will determine if ketamine is right for you based on your personal circumstances and medical history.
