Ketamine can safely be taken with a variety of medications. During your Medical Consult, your Psychiatric Clinician will review your physical and mental health history and provide any guidance about medications you are taking, including potential contraindications.
Your Psychiatric Clinician may advise you to avoid taking certain medications on the day of your ketamine experiences, or for best results. These may include stimulants (e.g., Adderall, Ritalin), benzodiazepines (e.g., Klonopin, Xanax), and substances like cannabis, alcohol, and caffeine.
Some patients are able to reduce or even taper off of their other psychotropic medications due to the significant benefits derived from ketamine treatment. The decision to adjust your other medications during or after ketamine treatment should only be done in consultation with your Psychiatric Clinician and your treating provider(s) outside of Innerwell.
Please note that starting or continuing ketamine treatment with another provider outside of Innerwell, or misrepresentation or falsification of prior medical or health history may be cause for termination of Innerwell services. Please refer to our Terms of Use for more information.
